Frankfort, Ky. (October 1, 2026) – McCarthy Strategic Solutions, LLC announced that Kenny Bishop joined the firm as Principal on October 1, 2026. Bishop joins the firm after almost seven years as Legislative Director at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
“Kenny brings an impressive combination of experience, relationships, and a strategic perspective to our team,” said Founder and Managing Partner John McCarthy. “He will be a tremendous asset to our firm, and we are excited to put his expertise to work on behalf of our clients.”
Bishop enjoyed a long career in public service, serving as Executive Director of the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion for Governor Ernie Fletcher, Director of Special Services at the Legislative Research Commission, Deputy Communications Director and Council Liaison for Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, Acting Legislative Director for Governor Andy Beshear, and, most recently, at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He also served as a campaign aide during Ernie Fletcher’s first gubernatorial campaign and as deputy campaign manager for Jim Gray’s 2016 U.S. Senate campaign.

Before his career in government, Bishop was a professional singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Richmond, he studied Christian Theology and Pastoral Care at Lee College and Seminary in Cleveland, TN, and is a lay pastor at Bluegrass United Church of Christ in Lexington.
