Scott Jones of Louisville will join McCarthy Strategic Solutions, LLC, as a Principal, beginning December 1, 2019. Jones recently completed a twenty-seven-year career in Kentucky State Government, having served in various roles with both the executive and legislative branches.
“Scott is a real professional. His vast experience will add tremendous value for our clients,” said John McCarthy. “We are honored to have him on our team.”
For over a decade, Jones served as Chief of Staff in the Office of the House Speaker Pro Tempore, then State Rep. Larry Clark (D-Louisville). He subsequently served as staff counsel to Rep. Rocky Adkins (D-Sandy Hook) in the Office of the House Majority Leader and was later appointed Chief of Staff to the Democratic House Minority Leadership office, a position from which he retired in 2018. Jones brings a close familiarity with the legislative process and a deep knowledge of state government structure and functions.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the McCarthy team,” Jones said. “I have seen firsthand many instances of their effectiveness in policy advocacy, success that results directly from a blend of personalities, skills, experience and professionalism that John and his colleagues have nurtured over the years. I look forward to making my own contributions to the team’s success over the months and years ahead.”
Born and raised in Louisville, Jones graduated from Saint Xavier High School and earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Louisville. He resides in Louisville with his wife, Alicia, their daughter, Sophie, and sons Matthew and Zachary.
